How Can You Help Palm Beach County Grindhouse Series?

We’ve been hosting the Palm Beach County Grindhouse Series at the Movies of Lake Worth for over a year now. It’s quickly become one of the biggest and most successful film series this county has ever had.

Flyer 1650x1275One of the biggest requests we get is to show some of the more obscure horror movies. We’ve listened and in June we’ll be showing Lucio Fulci’s 1979 Italian horror classic, ZOMBIE! Also known as Zombie Flesh Eaters or Zombi 2, this is the first time the film has been shown in Palm Beach County since it’s original release.

Now where do you come in? How can you help? It’s not too difficult to get the crowds to come to some of the bigger horror releases but it’s not easy for the more obscure films. If you’d like to see us continue to take more chances, please invite your friends on Facebook and tell people about this screening that you think would be interested. As long as people keep coming, we can keep doing this!

Nearly 200 Horror Fans Visit Freddy Krueger on Elm Street

news-nearly-200-at-elm-street-1On Friday, February 19th the Palm Beach County Grindhouse Series screening of Wes Craven’s 1984 A Nightmare on Elm Street had it’s largest attendance to date. With attendance in the 190’s there was barely a seat left in the Movies of Lake Worth‘s largest auditorium. A Nightmare on Elm Street was the 9th film in the series since we started back in April of 2015 with the Battle Royale 15th Anniversary screening.

news-nearly-200-at-elm-street-3Many thanks and much appreciation to my staff of Erik Johnson and Rhian Shultz. Rochelle Walters and the staff of the Movies of Lake Worth. Krueger Kollectables, Underground Horror Radio & Dread Central‘s Box of Dread for sponsoring the raffles. The Broward Palm Beach New Times for their support and our recent interview. And of course a huge thank you to the fans for coming out. This couldn’t happen if folks didn’t keep coming. You’re why we keep doing this.

The next screening before April’s 1 year anniversary is Army of Darkness on Friday, March 19th at 9:30PM. We’re already working on screenings for April & May and will continue to keep the series going on a monthly basis.
