Box of Dread July 2016

Price $14 (1 Month) | $13 (3 Months) | Shipping $6

IMG_20160721_125417From the folks at horror news site Dread Central is their horror-themed subscription box, Box of Dread. Box of Dread is a lower-priced box with two different options. You can choose either $14 for 1 month or a 3 month plan for $13 a month and the shipping is $6. Every month they choose a “7th Box” at random worth over $200 in horror items. Each month has a general theme with this one being “Independence Day”.

Box of Dread arrived in a large box than usual, more square this time than the usual small briefcase.

June’s Box of Dread included a Walking Dead Vinyl Dorbz, Monsterland poster & autographs and a comic..

A mini poster for Crackle’s Exclusive Dead Rising sequel movie based off the game, “Endgame”.

Exclusive to this month’s Box of Dread is a variant cover for the Evil Dead 2: Revenge of Hitler one-shot comic!

I love cats, I love Alien, I love this signed art print of Jones the cat from Alien.

My favorite item included this month is a high quality enamel/metal pin featuring the Dread Central mascot!

It wouldn’t be Independence Day without a Vinyl figure of one of the aliens from the original ID4.

IMG_20160721_125828I really dig the art print and the exclusive Evil Dead 2 variant comic but I LOVE the Dread Central pin. An all-around killer month from the folks at Box of Dread!

Over 100 Horror Fans Get Groovy At Evil Dead 2

L1150026On Friday, June 19th well over 100 fans made their way to the Movies of Lake Worth to see the 1987 horror-comedy classic Evil Dead 2. Some traveled from as far as Naples Palm Bay.

Evil Dead 2 was the second screening in the Palm Beach County Grindhouse Series and the first working directly with the Movies of Lake Worth. Thanks to the large turnout the theater will be the home for these screenings for the foreseeable future and the screenings will be on a more regular basis.

L1150060I’d like to thank everyone who helped make this possible. The Morbid Movies support team of Rhian, Erik & Sal. My family, especially my mother who watched Evil Dead 2 on her birthday. The Movies of Lake Worth and Rochelle for giving us the opportunity to do this and being an amazing venue. The fantastic media coverage from The Palm Beach PostThe Pow Wow Show, Promote Horror, Horror Society, Underground Horror Radio & Horror Movies Uncut. An additional thanks to The South Florida Horror Movie Meetup Group. A big thanks for the extra support from folks like Marc Ferman at Popcorn Nights, Gene Hoyle at Nerd Nation and our first sponsor Ink Link Tattoos and Piercings. And of course a huge thanks to everyone who came to the screening, it wouldn’t happen without you. As long as the people keep showing up, i’ll keep bringing these exclusive screenings to the area.

L1150073Two awesome screenings are planned for July and August and will be announced as soon as the rights are secured. To stay up-to-date on future screenings and other Morbid Movies news, follow @morbidmovies on Facebook, Instagram & Twitter and sign up for the Mailing List.
