You can choose either $14 for 1 month or a 3 month plan for $13 a month and the shipping is $6. Every month they choose a “7th Box” at random worth over $200 in horror items. Each month has a general theme with this one being “Happy Birthday John Carpenter”.
Box of Dread arrived in a wide brown box.
December’s Box of Dread included Condemned cards, Crow coaster, Dread Central ornament, A Christmas Horror Story post cards, Krampus christmas card, Forest poster, Predator minimate, comics & MP3 codes.
It’s Snake Plissken! Part of the Reaction line, this is of course Kurt Russell’s character from ‘Escape from New York’ complete with pistol.
A great looking print of Halloween’s Michael Myers drawn by horror artist Lee Howard.
From the mind of John Carpenter himself is “John Carpenter’s Asylum”.
There’s a war coming to the City of Angels. In tunnels beneath the city, in the dark alleys among the homeless, demons lurk and Lucifer bides his time. One man knows. One man sees. One man walks those dark streets. Father Daniel Beckett’s seen demons and he’s spoken to the Devil, but he’s never seen an angel and he’s never spoken to God. Obsessed and driven as much by betrayal as righteousness and anger as redemption, he walks the smoke-filled encampments of lost souls like Dante’s nine rings of the Inferno. He is God’s warrior at war with God.
Dynamite Comics Vampirella is featured in this mini-calendar with fantastic art.
From Legendary Entertainment’s line of comics is “The Harvester”.
Witness the dawning of a legend as The Harvester rises, enforcing his own breed of blood-spattered justice as he battles an unruly biker gang terrorizing a small town. In the wake of the emergence, a young academic obsessed with finding the truth partners with a rogue investigator eager to join her hunt. Together, they just might expose the Harvester for whoever – or whatever – he really is…
From Retro Pomade is an album of tracks inspired by John Carpenter’s films. Also included is a download code for a track from John Carpenter himself. The unreleased Hades Creep Overture.
Another solid month from the folks at Box of Dread. The Reaction figure, art print, comic & MP3’s were a nice way to celebrate the birthday of legendary director John Carpenter. The Harvester comic and the Vampirella calendar were nice extras too.
If you’re a fan of all things horror, check out Box of Dread.
Disclosure: A complimentary Box of Dread Subscription Box was given for review purposes. All opinions are my own.
